David Sandoval’s 10-Day Celebrity Transformation Cleanse is a 10 day (obviously) system that resets your metabolism, breaks your addition to sugar & junk food, detoxes your body, cleanses your digestive tract and in the process, you’ll lose 5-20 pounds. Part Three : The Before & After + Final Thoughts will reveal my REAL before and after photos, what I really thought about the Purium 10-Day Transformation Cleanse and if its worth your time and money.

Purium 10-Day Transformation Cleanse Results

Purium Before and AfterWell, here it is. For the last 10 days (or 9 to be precise) I’ve endured my first cleanse – the Purium 10-Day Transformation Cleanse [READ Review Part 1: The System].

So, here I am (finally!) at the end. Am I impressed with the photos? Not really – I’ll never be a Purium poster girl. I will say that it looks like I lost the extra layer of fat I acquired from my new desk job and when I get dressed things are a lot less lumpy!

I really like the Apothe-Cherry at night. Since I’ve been drinking it,my stress level seems much lower and I feel more relaxed, even if I’ve been thrown a few curve balls lately.

WAS IT WORTH IT? Yes and no. Its been several days since I stopped and I’ve eaten a lot less, been less hungry in general and have very little craving for sugar. If you have a food addiction to sugar, junk food or caffeine OR if you have never tried to eat clean before – this is definitely worth a try. For those who have the willpower and the means to eat clean & right plus exercise, this is a great kick start or amplifier. Can you get the same results without it and for less money? I’m convinced the answer is yes.

I’m not here to give you a pep talk and convince you to try the 10-Day Transformation Cleanse. Regardless of what other people have claimed – its hard. I’m imagining that a very small percentage of people are able to get through the entire 10 days. Plus its not just 10 days. There’s several weeks of follow up and you need to start thinking about what you’re going to eat – or you’ll put the weight right back on in a matter of weeks.

I chose not to do a specific follow up – but I haven’t had fast food and continue to have Amazing Meal (not a Purium product) shakes for breakfast. In the last 4 days, I’ve put on 1 pound. I normally don’t gain weight without a good effort – so whether the weight loss was really fat or just water remains to be seen over the next few weeks (I’ll update).

Personally, I will never do a cleanse for this length of time again. I firmly believe if you are serious about getting healthy and want long term results, you need to educate and train yourself to make good nutrition and lifestyle choices daily. Developing a healthy (both literally and emotionally) relationship with food should be a lifetime learning process and change.

What the Future Holds. I’m going to eat junk food. I love chocolate and tacos. However, I am going to drastically minimize the amount of rubbish I put into my body and focus on eating nutritious whole foods as much as possible.

the FINAL ROAR!: Purium 10-Day Transformation Cleanse isn’t a miracle product. The system is easy to follow – but it isn’t easy to convince yourself that you’re satisfied. While it presents a quick-fix way to detox your body of excess water weight, sugar cravings and definitely reduces your appetite, if you can’t afford the $244+ and costly follow up – eating organic fruits, vegetables and lean non-animal protein (plus tons of water) can give you similar results in the long run. I’m glad I gave it a go – but my results were more mental than physical with benefits that can’t be weighed.

Purium 10-Day Transformation Cleanse Results

UPDATE (07/04/2014): I finished the Purium Cleanse in April 2014 – and here we are 3 months later. So what happened? My current weight is 140.6 lbs. Regardless of what any Purium distributor might tell you – the initial weight loss is going to be water [READ THIS], particularly in the first few days. Of course, this depends on the individual, but after returning to a healthy diet (with a few cheats), I gained the weight back within a few weeks.

So since I hate dieting and I honestly can’t see depriving myself of chewing food ever again – I switched to exercise. For 5 weeks I did the T25 Alpha which is primarily cardio. I lost nothing. In fact, I gained a few pounds even with watching what I ate most of the time. Keep in mind that I stopped taking birth control pills back in late March.

In the last several weeks I’ve been varying my workouts – adding Barry’s Boot Camp, Windsor PIlates, 30 Day Shred and T25. I’ve lost about 2 pounds of what I’m assuming is fat. How can I tell? My waist measurement is the same as when I was 133.9 lbs. (end of cleanse). WHAT?? Yeah – same. You can’t argue with that. Weight loss rate is only about .5 pounds a week – but this is without any kind of planned diet. In fact, I’ve been eating more junk than usual.

FYI – I’ll be doing a blog post that will follow what I do over the next 10 weeks. The goal – lose 5 pounds. I’m going to keep alternating the workouts, adding in uphill walking as well. The “diet” will be upping the protein, eating a smaller dinner, minimizing (not cutting out) sweets and having “juice” at least 5x a week. [JUICE – fresh cucumber, ginger, tumeric, lemon, green apple juice blended with kale, cucumber, frozen mango]. I’ll keep track of what I’m doing, what I’m eating (or cheating) and my progress.

  1. Thanks for your objective & detailed analysis. I’m glad you are trying things like this out; it sounds like it was a good experience & it’s helpful to hear about those. I don’t intend to try it (I drink alcohol!), but I like hearing about it. =)

    1. I’m glad you reviewed this! I was considering it, but based on your results I will not be trying it. I eat better than most these days, and have generally cut out red meat (which I’ve always done) and alcohol completely (long term temporarily!) until I can kick start the weight loss. Lost 12.4 pounds in the last month with these changes and portion control. As you know, because I’ve done it, I believe in the old fashioned way…so for my birthday I will be doing a 5K this weekend, and I have two more and a 10K in the next month. Let me know if you want to do short races with me!

  2. Thanks for the review. It was helpful to read a non biased review of this product. I’m curious how the weight gain, if any, was after you finished the cleanse?

    1. As with any cleanse – I gained about half the weight back. Honestly – I probably wouldn’t attempt to do the full 10 days again – but I would do a few days to refresh. Slow and steady always wins the race.

  3. This was an awesome read. I feel more like you in the sense that I am not having the bursting energy like everyone else.. And also had the thought if it was worth it. What keeps me motivated is that all the junk food will still be there when i am done.
I’m on day 3.. Would be day 4 but I cheated and ‘gave up’ .. Then morning came and I was eager to start again.
Having to pee all night is not fun though.

Thanks for this review it helped me realize I’m not alone and you made it through!

  4. Thanks for an honest review of the product. I agree with so much of what you said. I’ve done the 10 day Transformation and the 5 day mini Transformation. Like you, I did not feel like I had more energy…not at all. And I HATE the taste of the Power Shake (I’ve done both flavors and trust me, the Apple Berry flavor is definitely better than the original, which tastes like grass). The company has tweaked the Transformation since I first did it last summer (they’ve added more Flex Foods and the Ionic elements and took out the Herbal Fiber capsules). When I did it, I followed it to the tee (because I’m kinda OCD at times) and didn’t even eat any Flex Foods. I lost about 9lbs and I felt “cleaner.” It helped me realize how often I just eat too much. I’ve always been one who lived to eat and not eat to live…I still am. haha I love sugar and the Transformations have helped curb some of that. Of course, you need to eat clean after the Transformation. I didn’t and sort of went back to bad eating habits. I’ve continued to take the Master Aminio Acids, which I think helps. And I love the Apothe-Cherry!!! It does give me a better quality of sleep. I guess for me, when I do the Power Shakes or the LOVE shakes, I feel like I’m at least putting something healthy in my system, not like some of those other shakes on the market.

  5. I am finishing day 8 and while I don’t find it too difficult I’ve only lost 8lbs and my waist and hips measure the same. Everyone says you should feel great, but I kinda feel the same. Thanks for making me feel sane since I haven’t had the miracle results.

  6. Thank you for the honest review. I am starting Day 2 and I hope I’ll last the full 10 days. When I spoke to my friend who sells the product she made it seem like the best thing out there. Now I know it’s just Day 2 but I am so tired that I’ve been taking mini naps throughout the day and I have to force myself to drink the shakes. I’m hoping that it gets better soon.

  7. I’m on day two and already modified the program. After one day of the Apple Berry flavored shakes I realized I could not handle the taste for another 9 days, so I’ve converted the shakes to smoothies by adding the flex foods to the shake and blending it (add one cup unsweetened almond milk, cooked kale and applesauce, plus 2 to 3 dates, and ice) and have only two of those, in the morning and evening. Mid-day I just eat a flex food. I follow all other instructions as provided by Purium. I can do this for another 8 days. However, with almost no carbs I am feeling tired. Once I am done with the 10 days I’ll go back to a slightly modified Paleo diet which I like and can maintain for long periods of time with only occasional cheats for special events.

  8. Thank you for your honesty!!! This is extremely helpful… I am debating about trying the products. I have done a cleanse but with all real food juiced or made into smoothies, that is time consuming… that is why I thought I would try this and then transition into the juice/smoothies after the initial cleanse…I will do more research before I make my decision. I greatly appreciate your honesty… best wishes to continued success with your life/food balance.

  9. I appreciate the review and I applaud your efforts. You have to admit that your results were attributed to your determination, diligence, will power, and Purium 10 Day Celebrity Transformation. It’s not for everyone but like you said it’s a kick start to get you thinking about eating healthier by making better choices and getting your butt off the couch. So why not take a vacation from eating processed and fatty foods for 10 days and lose weight that would takes months to do so. It seems that this is what you took from your experience along with the weight loss. “You are what you eat.”
Most people do not have the patience to wait months or years for weight loss to occur or have or want to work out excessively to get results. In the end they get discouraged because their efforts and hard work in one month resulted in a loss of 2-3 lbs and give up. The transformation will get you closer to your goal faster that’s for sure.
No one will ever get the nutritional value that this product provides in their life time nor will they pay less if they tried to purchase every ingredient individually. Why not include a product within your diet that provides such dense nutrition and make sure the rest of your meals are well rounded and watch your portions. There are other products and packs to meet your needs for weight loss and maintenance, skin care, immunity, gastric issues, diabetes, and so on.
I thought I ate healthy but after experiencing the transformation it made me even more conscious about my diet and took my health to a whole new level. I thought I only needed to lose 4 lbs. and I was amazed when I lost 7.6. I started at 137 and right now I am 127.4 lbs. I was so pleased that all that fat storage lost was in those problem areas…arms, waist, thighs, and my face too. Even my complexion and saggy skin has improved. I still incorporate Purium and other products from their catalog in my daily diet…with other types of shakes and supplements to meet my needs as a mother and a runner. It has helped me acheive my pre baby weight goal and now I intend on getting leaner and building more muscle to keep fat storage in check. My kids drink a smoothie I blend using almond/coconut milk, berries, banana, and products from Purium before school. I know they will not make those healthy choices alone and this give me peace of mind that they are getting practically a whole day of nutrition in one shot.
Yes you can accomplish your goals with very healthy eating and exercise, but there is nothing wrong with supplementing with non GMO, no soy, organic, healthly products too. I believe in this product and I promote it as well.
All I can say is make every effort to stay healthy so you can benefit in the long run and prophylactically prevent conditions and illnessess caused by bad eating habits and processed foods. 10. My husband has done 4 Purium cleanses and has lost almost 60 lbs (in less than 3 months) so I would disagree with your statement that it is mostly water weight. I was actually shocked that he did the first one and stuck with it since he dislikes most shakes/meal replacements etc… He has another 40-45 lbs to lose and has incorporated the products and continues to lose (at a slower pace). I’m thrilled since he is healthier and has made most of the positive changes I’ve been ‘nagging’ him for years to do so I think it does. My 2 cents 🙂

  11. I too did the 10 days a year ago. I had a lot of the detox symptoms they talk about. Fatigue, food cravings, and headaches for a couple of days. When that went as way I was fine the rest of the time including more energy by day6. I lost 9 lbs and my digestion has never been better. I’ve kept it off for over a year by incorporating the shakes and aminos in my diet, and overall changing my lifestyle. I believe you really have to want to change to keep it off. You can do just about anything to lose weight, but real change comes afterward if you want it. It’s been a year and I’ve done a second one more for cleansing this time. No detox symptoms at all. Lost 7 lbs and I’ve never felt better. Good luck everyone! When you stick with something for 21 days it becomes a habit. 10 days will give you the kickstart you need, but you need a good follow up to win the race!
